Liz with Mike and Laura's girls...aren't they beautiful?
Duncan loooooved having Bennett around. I don't know how thrilled Bennet was.
Duncan is 6 wks older than Bennett but look how HUGE Bennett is!
Chris and Paula's kids (minus Jackson) sitting on an Elk in Elko.
The Cousies...Duncan, Bennett and Grace
These are some pictures from Liz and Trevor's visit last weekend. Grandpa Riley is in the hospital in Salt Lake so they came up to visit him. It was a lot of fun and I know what you all are thinking after looking at these pictures..."Isn't Bennett soooo beautiful?" Well, yes he is beautiful, and we were reminded time and time again by everyone how beautiful Duncan's cousin is. Fortunately Duncan didn't seem to mind.

Scotty Boy

This was Duncan's Halloween costume. I threw together this kilt and matching tie in record time. I was very impressed with myself. He looked so cute...except we decided that if you didn't know us and Duncan you would probably mistake him for a school girl.

Thank you Megan, our sweet niece, for watching Duncan so we could go and be thoroughly entertained by this GREAT movie! I love Steve Carell, but his Office character is so over the top it, sometimes it's nice to just see him be a normal likeable guy. Just a note about The Office, I had a dream last night that Jim and Pam came to dinner. Wouldn't that be fun?

Actual News!

We actually have news! It feels like we have been doing the same thing forever, even though it hasn't even been two years since we moved into the condo. Despite that I'm still feeling the urge to do something new. We sold the condo and are moving back to student housing at the U. So I guess I can't really say "new" since it's actually where we started, but nevertheless it does mean change. I loooooove change and especially when it means Jimmy focusing on school and possibly graduating in a year and a half. The best thing about all this is that it looks as if I may be able to quit Discover Card in December. YIPPEE!! If you don't know, I despise my job and can't believe I have worked there for 3 years! It is so bad, I used to day dream about getting into a car accident on my way to work just so I would have an excuse not to go. That was when I worked evenings, this 6am stuff is even worse. Feel sorry for me yet? Anyway...enjoy some pictures from the past couple months (mostly of our little Duncan Pie).

Here we are enjoying some refreshing watermelon as the family reunion activities start to wind down. We had a huge Riley get together at park in Salt Lake and afterwards the J. Rileys came over for a swim and pizza and watermelon. It was a whole lot of fun. The couzies certainly had a good time playing together in the pool. The only low was when our cranky old neighbor threatened to turn me in for having too large of group at the pool. Fortunately I don't think she has the best of memories and seemed to have forgotten the whole incident when I saw her the next morning.

I realized lately that there are almost no pictures of me with my child...partly because I'm rarely picture ready and partly because no one's around to take pictures. Well Jimmy is around but if I don't think about it, it doesn't get thought about. So here ya go...yesterday we took a picture!! Someday maybe we'll get one of all 3 of us together, awwwww =)
We both have a hard time keeping up with the kid's energy. Especially Jimmy on a Sunday afternoon.

First Night
Last night was the first night that Duncan fell asleep all on his own without crying!! It was a major accomplishment for him and we're so proud =) I risked all that hard work by sneaking in to take a picture of the wonderful moment. Fortunately he just stirred a little but stayed asleep. On top of falling asleep on his own he stayed asleep for most of the night. Sad but true...my life revolves around Duncan's sleeping habits.
I had to teach the Relief Society lesson on integrity today. I think it went well. I was well prepared and that always makes things go smoothly. I think if you're well prepared and ask Heavenly Father for help, things are always going to work out just fine.

Welcome, Welcome!
We decided we would join the gobs of people now journaling their lives for the world to read. Today is Friday and I'm feeling a little more alert than most mornings because I didn't go to work at 5:30am. I had another rough night with Duncan and couldn't get myself out of bed to work a measly two hour shift. Duncan is almost 6 months and I'm afraid he might be one of those kids who just never sleeps through the night. We've been trying some "sleep training" which basically means, establishing a bedtime routine, puting him down awake, and letting him cry it out. It has been almost 2 weeks and he's still crying (not to say he's been crying for 2 weeks straight but rather he still cries at bedtime =). Despite our night time issues, Duncan really is a great baby. He's happy most of the time, and loves people. We went to get new tires today and while we were waiting, a woman came and sat down next to us. Duncan just sat there and stared at the woman until she responded and then just giggled. He has this way of watching you like he is trying to figure you out. So anyway, four new tires!! We weren't expecting that, but we have had the Corolla for almost 2 years and haven't really had much work done so we should have expected to fork out some dough. Well I better get Duncan up. I know I know...never wake a sleeping baby...but he went down for a late nap and I don't want him to sleep past 5pm. It's for the best!
p.s. Check out Duncan's teeth!! (2 front bottom just surfaced)
