Breastfeeding With an Audience

"I bet Ewan wishes your nipple was smaller"

-Duncan

"His lower jaw is really pumping, Mom"
-Duncan

"He's biting your belly!"
-Finaly

Breastfeeding is not easy for me. For the first few weeks it pretty much dominates my life which in turn impacts the whole family. I thought this time would be easier, you know, with all my experience. I turns out I just don't do newborn well. There's absolutely nothing easy about this stage, in my opinion. So eventually I will get to Ewan's birth story (when I have two free hands to type with).

Bath Shower

These boys were supposed to be taking a "bath shower", which is what we call a shower in the bathtub. It's nice because they don't splash and I don't worry about them as much (In other words, I get a lot done while they're in there)
This on the other hand gives me a lot to worry about. Looks like they found the plug and the height of the water tells you just how distracted I must've been by Ewan and all his needs (like the need to be snuggled and adored). Thank goodness there was minimal water on the floor and everyone was alive to smile for the picture.

What To Do?

So what do you do during quiet time when you're almost 40 weeks pregnant and suddenly remember that you actually lost a pound at your 39 week check up?

You sit down with the newest Martha Stewart Living and eat not one but two bowls of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream. Now is not the time to be losing weight.

Here are a few of my favorites from our little photo shoot with Sabrina. It was a bit impromptu, but I love the look of the pictures. The Mission in Oceanside ended up being a great spot.

How Low Can You Go?

Sabrina and I both agree that maybe we waited too long to take these maternity pictures. HA HA! It looks like if I let go my belly is going to drop on the ground. Even the doctor yesterday was shocked by how low this baby is sitting. Not so comfortable for mama.
More pictures to come!
