Easter is Confusing...

and I don't think my lame explanation helped much.

Happy Easter Morning

Duncan was singing this all day in his sweet little tuneless way..."Happy Easter Morning." It makes me smile to think about. It makes me smile to think about this great DAY! I think the greatness of the day is really due to the greatness of my decisions last night. I passed up "fun time" with friend to stay home and work on sharing time. Good decision number one. I turned on a movie, but then turned it off and took a shower instead! Good decision number 2. Lastly, before going to bed (before midnight might I add), I printed all the recipes I needed for today's dinner and wrote a "To Do" list for Sunday morning and Primary. Good decision number 3. What a difference a little preparation can make. I even managed to keep relatively calm and collected when on top of sharing time, I had to fill in for our chorister. Dinner went well, even with a last minute change in venue and number of mouths. I think I've mentioned this before but,sometimes I have to work really hard at appearing laid back, but today it was just peaceful.

Primary was so awesome! At first, teaching our youngster primary about the resurrection, seemed a bit overwhelming. I didn't want to incorporate games with eggs or candy. I wanted to really focus on Jesus and the resurrection and help them learn by the spirit. Somehow it worked. Primary was peaceful. I felt it and most importantly I think the kids felt it. Amazing.

The last great thing about my day...my HUSBAND. Because Jimmy typically likes to avoid seriousness at all costs, I treasure the "real" moments. Amidst the silliness, I sometimes forget the MAN that I married. I married a faithful man with an amazing desire and focus to do good. In our few years of marriage I have watched life shape him into a supportive husband, a successful provider, and a GREAT father. My heart is full today. I'm can't help feel an overwhelming sense of love as I reflect on the GREAT things in my life. "HAPPY EASTER MORNING"

Kind of Bragging a Little Bit

This is an impressive game Duncan likes to play.  He actually listens for the sounds.  He hasn't just memorized what words start with.  We have talked about "SH" sound but I had never asked him what an SH word started with.  I was pretty impressed.  

So once your child starts talking, you start to learn a lot about yourself and how you communicate.  I realized my passive aggressive tone and my need to qualify everything.  Duncan says things like, "Could you please not do that, Mom," or"Penguins are really pretty silly."  Duncan says, "really pretty" or "kind of a bit" way too much. 

Also, the other day we were looking through a little preschool coloring book when Duncan spotted a picture of a boy doing laundry.  In his "that's totally ridiculous" voice he said, "Boys don't do laundry.  Boys watch commercials and shows." Yikes!!

-Duncan's response after I told him he took a good bite of sandwich.

Prego Update

So, I'm starting my 37th week tomorrow and I just learned that the little guy is breech. There's still time for him to turn but most likely he won't. I'll go in next Tuesday and if he is still breech they are going to schedule an ECV (where the doctor manually turns the baby). I'm not too keen on the whole ECV thing. It sounds painful and only works like 60% of the time. I AM going to try it but there still may be a c-section in my future. At least it would be nice for planning purposes, right? =) The good news is I have actually dilated and effaced!! Only 1cm but considering last time at 41 weeks the doctor was still referring to my cervix as "Fort Knox", I can't help but be a little hopeful. In other news Duncan puked 4 times last night. It took 3 loads of laundry filled with blankets, sheets, pillowcases, clothes, couch covers, and stuffed animals to get rid of any sign of vomit. Actually, I take that back. I still have an afghan waiting to be hand washed. UGGHH!! But there is good news with this one as well. It was snowy today so it was a perfect day to keep him indoors. Plus, it only lasted 12 hours! Hallelujah! Hope you enjoyed our update. We're praying for a somersault! -Holly If anyone has any experience with the ECV procedure I'd love to hear your comments! 36 Weeks =) Jimmy didn't tell me he was taking it.

Skinny Mirrors at the OB-GYN - Brilliant!

So I caught a glimpse of myself in the full length mirror while I was waiting in the exam room for my Doc. We don't own a full length mirror so I was curious and took another look. Now, I know I'm not a huge pregnant woman and have already admitted to liking my prego bod but this definitely was a skinny mirror. My legs looked so thin, as if they didn't even rub together when I walked. It was awesome!

Duncan would like to interrupt my blogging session by saying.....

Also, earlier today he said something really smart. I asked him how he knew that and he replied,
"cause I'm a smart little monkey." I have to agree =)
